Our roadside Farm Stand is located at 7927 Hygiene Rd in Longmont
and is open seasonally. We will open for the 2019 season on Tuesday, 4/23/19 with organic starter plants for your garden and fresh spring produce available! We will be open Monday -Friday, 10 am – 6 pm through April, weather permitting. Beginning in May, we will be open on the weekends as well!
Featured plants for April: Broccoli, Lettuce, Boc Choi, Cabbage, Napa cabbage, Kohlrabi, Radicchio, Tatsoi. These all PREFER to be planted now!! We grow a special variety of broccoli that is so special and good with tender edible stalks; it will grow a nice big head then continue to create nice smaller side shoots for many weeks in June. One customer told us he kept cutting back the flowers throughout the summer and the broccoli then produced a bumper fall crop too!
The Farm Stand will be stocked daily with the best of what is available each day from the following seasonal produce: Salad Mix, Arugula, Spicy Greens Mix, Specialty Greens Mix, Butterhead Lettuce, Summer Crisp Lettuce (similar to Romaine), Kale, Chard, Radicchio, Cabbage, Fennel, Beets, Carrots, Green Shallots, Scallions, Fresh Basil and other Herbs, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Heritage Whole Wheat, Heirloom Cornmeal, Heirloom Popcorn, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Spring Onions, Eggs, Raspberries, Sunflowers, Zinnias, and Flower Bouquets. (Please note: supplies of each item at the Farm Stand fluctuate based on availability and the season, ie basil is only available in the warm summer.)
Also, Aspen Moon now has wool yarn and wool roving at the Farm Stand! Local and sustainable fiber from sheep raised in a certified organic system is another level of regenerative agriculture that we are proud to share with our community. Aspen Moon became the home for a small heard of Navajo Churro sheep this past spring. The sheep have been moved around our pastures and have been doing natures work of restoring the land they graze. Research shows that grazing animals is one of the very best ways to restore balance and nourishment to soil.
